ESTÜ402 Coaching and Leadership Course
The ESTÜ402 Coaching and Leadership course has a credit of 3 ECTS (3+0). It is an elective course offered in the Spring semester for undergraduate students. The course is available in two groups, one in the Faculty of Science and one in the Faculty of Engineering, and is open to all university students. The student capacity is limited to 30 students.
The aim of the course is to teach students the necessary coaching approaches to adopt coaching as a natural leadership style in both their professional and personal lives. In this context, students will learn basic coaching skills and leadership styles. They will gain a deeper understanding of their values, strengths, and areas for development, and learn how to apply a coaching approach within their discovered leadership styles.
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- List the leadership competencies required for effective leadership using a coaching approach,
- Interpret their own leadership styles,
- Explain techniques such as deep listening, effective questioning, and storytelling,
- Apply the fundamentals of team performance management and career management,
- Discuss effective expression and communication techniques using a coaching approach,
- List the principles of feedback and forward feedback,
- Identify various coaching tools at an application level.
