ESTÜ 101 – Introduction to University Life Course
What is ESTÜ 101?
ESTÜ 101 Introduction to University Life is a 2-credit elective course offered in the fall semester. It is designed to help new students transition smoothly into university life and make a successful start.
The course aims to:
- Facilitate students' adaptation to the university and their departments,
- Enhance their understanding of academic culture,
- Provide information on the values and regulations of university life,
- Promote active participation in extracurricular activities through various events and workshops.
What does the course cover?
ESTÜ 101 begins with the Orientation Program at the start of the academic year and continues throughout the semester with various academic and personal development seminars. Seminar topics are updated at the beginning of each semester and announced to students before the course starts.
Who can take ESTÜ 101?
This elective course is designed for first-year students (1st or 2nd semester) and transfer students coming from other universities.

The course grade is determined based on the number of seminar attendances, as outlined in the grading table:
